In 2001, chef and ceramist Jarmo Pitkänen returned to his home town of Kuusamo to work in a project promoting local cuisine. Back then he was already making plans for opening his own restaurant.
The professional kitchen and the dining room seating 20 were placed on the first floor. The ground floor was occupied with a second kitchen, a ceramics studio and a small shop area. Soon customers found their way to the studio restaurant, which was extended to seat 30 customers already in 2007. The shop area is now larger, and a lounge reception area was added to the restaurant dining room.
